Birthdays…we either love them or hate them. January 5, I choose to love.
As the candles flickered on top of a delicious cake, the annual celebration of a birthday arrives, marking another chapter in the book of life. Several of us friends have celebrated together in January for over 10 years! We were together New Year’s Eve toasting in 2024 and yet another birthday.
A range of emotions can be evoked-from excitement to reflection to contemplation when this yearly event occurs. Turning another year older can be a momentous occasion, an opportunity for growth and experiences learned. It is a chance to appreciate the journey thus far and anticipate any new adventures that lie ahead.
Birthdays can be more that a numerical increase! They can be a call to embrace the spirit of travel and adventure. Whether it is exploring new destinations or embarking on a spontaneous road trip, the allure of the unknown becomes a birthday companion. Travel, like birthdays, offer an opportunity to break free from routine and explore uncharted territory. Birthdays remind us that life is an unfolding adventure and with each passing year, we accumulate a treasure trove of experiences that shape our individual narratives.
So, I am going to take a moment to appreciate the journey behind and the path that lies ahead. I am going to step out of my comfort zone and try new things, new places, and meet new people. I hope you do the same when your birthday rolls around. And, I hope you choose to love it.
