Is Travel Insurance Really Necessary?

The unexpected can happen. When planning a trip, it’s important to consider purchasing travel protection for your investment. There are various companies to choose from and different options to consider when selecting a plan, but the benefits of having coverage can be invaluable. For instance, travel protection can provide reimbursement for trip cancellations or interruptions due to unexpected events like illness, natural disasters, or even job loss. It can also offer medical coverage, emergency assistance, and help with lost or stolen luggage. With all of these potential benefits, it’s worth exploring different travel protection options before embarking on your next trip.

What identification and documents are needed on a cruise?
Travelers are often curious about what is required to cruise. Do I need a passport? Birth certificate? It depends. Travelers are ultimately responsible for having the needed documents/identification to board the cruise ship. Here are some tips for US citizens:

**Contact your cruise line or read their information on their website. They will make it clear what is required.
**USA citizens generally may use a certified birth certificate and another state issued ID on closed loop cruises (beginning and ending in the same port). Again, ck your cruise line.
**Certified birth certificates, not just hospital issued or copies, are required. These can be obtained through the local health department or Vital Records department thru the state.
**Although it may not be required, passports are highly recommended. If one misses the cruise ship while out of the country or ends up in a hospital there, etc, they will need s passport to re-enter the USA.
